"Emma is quite simply incredible"

Mary, London

My unique style is clear, precise and transformative...

My strength as a healing therapist is to help you make emotional connections. By understanding and piecing together the stories from your past, it will allow you to have more patience, understanding and acceptance. Are you ready to reclaim your power?

I first discovered Tapping therapy and Matrix Re-Imprinting on a detox retreat in Thailand, it changed my life forever!

You're in good hands, I’ve been a multi-skilled healing therapist since 2000 and have been fortunate to learn this therapy from the founding EFT & Matrix Re-Imprinting Masters in the UK, Karl Dawson, Emma Roberts and Sue Beer.

What is EFT?

Emotional Freedom Technique was developed in the 1990's by Gary Craig, but can be dated back 5000 years to its links to Acupuncture. There is significant evidence of it's effectiveness, and it can be used with both kids and adults.

EFT is a form of Talk Therapy or Coaching which draws on a combination of theories including Acupuncture, NLP (Neuro Lingustic Programming) and Energy Medicine.

It involves tapping on specific meridian points whilst bringing awareness into the body with positive affirming language. We can literally ‘tap’ into and release emotional blocks caused by past traumas. We do this by accessing our subconscious mind through our memories and chasing the energy. I will completely guide you, so you can stay present.

It's non invasive and safe to use with groups or in a 1:1 session.

EFT can be used with adults and kids and I work with both.

What is EFT Tapping?

Frequently Asked Questions

EFT Tapping (also known as Emotional Freedom Technique, EFT, or Tapping) is a form of counselling, or talking therapy, that draws on various theories of alternative medicine including Chinese Acupuncture, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Energy Medicine. EFT stimulates specific acupressure points, by tapping, or rubbing these points while focusing and bringing awareness to present or past issues that may represent some kind of personal fear or trauma. By tapping on these points and using specific tapping scripts, EFT is fast becoming one the most effective healing tools to help reduce anxiety and stress, and is used by many clinical therapists throughout the world.

How Does EFT Work?

EFT Tapping works by combining both cognitive (the brain) and somatic (the body) elements. This combination helps to regulate the Central Nervous System, (CNS) and also reduce cortisol hormone levels in the body.

By tapping the specific acupressure points on the face and body, plus using specific targeted language, it can help re-balance your energy, alleviate physical and emotional pain and help release emotional distress from past or present events. Many studies have demonstrated its efficiency for both physiological and psychological symptoms. It’s a highly effective technique to help with many issues like anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, social anxiety, imposter syndrome, limiting beliefs, plus much more.

EFT Tapping rewires the brain's response to the proposed threat, and the thoughts and emotions associated with it, we then can experience more calm in our body as the relaxed amygdala sends the signal to the endocrine system to stop producing stress hormones, cortisol.

What are the EFT Tapping Points?

The EFT Tapping Points are found on the top half of the body but also include points on the hands and fingers. These are the 9 main EFT Tapping points below, including the associated emotions related to each point:

1. Side of the Hand - Karate Chop

Releases feeling stuck and promotes ease in moving forward, letting go, healing from grief, and becoming happy in the present moment.

2. Eyebrow

Releases trauma, hurt, and sadness and promotes peace and emotional healing

3. Side of the Eye

Releases resentment and anger and promotes clarity and compassion.

4. Under the Eye

Releases fear and anxiety and promotes feelings of contentment, calmness, and safety.

5. Under the Nose

Releases shame and powerlessness and promotes self-acceptance, self-empowerment, and compassion for self and others.

6. Under the Mouth

Releases confusion and uncertainty and promotes clarity, certainty, confidence, and self-acceptance.

7. Collarbone

Releases the feeling of being stuck, promotes ease in moving forward, and boosts confidence and clarity.

8. Under the Arm

Releases guilt, worry, and obsessing and promotes clarity, confidence, relaxation, and compassion for self and others.

9. Top of the Head

Opens the crown chakra and promotes spiritual connection, while anchoring in the new balance and alignment from the tapping round that has just been completed.

How fast does EFT Tapping work?

How fast EFT works really depends on how intense the level of stress there is.

Lower intensity issues may only require 3 to 5 rounds to provide relief, while more intense issues may take 10 to 12 rounds to decrease the immediate stress. Intense or chronic issues are best addressed through consistent tapping over time with an experienced EFT practitioner like myself. The benefits are accumulative, meaning you will get the best results by tapping regularly.

Can you teach yourself EFT?

Teaching yourself EFT is possible, as the tapping points are easy to get the hang of quickly. However, I recommend working with an experienced therapist like myself to get through specific difficult issues, especially as the sub-conscious mind likes to protect you, so it sometimes gets in the way. A skilled EFT practitioner will be able to navigate useful and specific tapping scripts to enable fast results.

How do I know which EFT practitioner is best for me?

Knowing if an EFT practitioner is best for you can seem like a mine field. I suggest looking through their website and see if you feel drawn to them, also have a look at what other qualifications they have to offer, a multi skilled therapist with a broad variety of skills like myself, can be very beneficial for your recovery, as it works well with other techniques such as Reiki Healing, EMDR, Sound Healing and Breath Work.

What should you say with EFT?

What should I say when tapping the EFT points is a question I often get asked? It’s best to bring awareness to the issue first, even if this is negative. By acknowledging the feeling and saying it out it loud when tapping, can bring acceptance to the issue faster. Once you have awareness and acceptance, it’s easier to move towards change.

We often refer to the talking part of EFT as the ‘Tapping Script’. Here are two examples of what you could say if you are either in physical pain, or feeling anxious or stressed:

“Even though I’m feeling anxious and stressed right now, I am moving towards loving and accepting myself just as I am”

“Even though my body is in pain right now, I accept myself fully and trust my body has the ability to heal”

Is there any science behind EFT Tapping?

EFT Tapping is supported by a large and growing body of scientific research now, many clinical studies have now shown that regular tapping can reduce cortisol levels (the stress hormone) by 43%.

Dr Peta Stapleton shines a spotlight on the latest in EFT Research, and translates in laypersons' terms in many videos, showing how EFT has been shown to positively address PTSD, other stress-related conditions, and also depression.

Research shows that regular EFT Tapping rewires the brain's response to the threat, and the thoughts and emotions associated with it, we can then experience more calm in our body as the relaxed Amygdala sends the signal to the Endocrine System to stop producing stress hormones (Cortisol). The CNS (central nervous system) can then relax.

How long and how often should I tap for with EFT?

I suggest EFT tapping every day, as studies have shown that tapping daily can reduce cortisol levels by 43%. The best place I recommend to tap is in the shower in the morning, as this sets you up for a good day. And then again before you go to bed, as this allows you to release the stress of the day. It’s totally safe to use EFT as often as you need, so feel free to use it regularly throughout the day as needed.

The 9 tapping points above are considered to be one full tapping round. I recommend tapping at least 3 full rounds. If you still feel stress or anxiety, then do another 3 or 4 tapping rounds. It can sometimes take up to 10 to 15 full rounds of EFT tapping to bring your body and mind to a relaxed state. So be patient and kind to yourself, and keep tapping.
